It just requires the right ingredients and the right method of preparation for the drink to work properly and be at its best.

The ingredients that are used in root beer are varied. Extracts of various different flavored syrups along with carbonated water are used for the non-alcoholic type of root beer. However, there are some alcoholic versions of root beer that consist of vanilla, cherry tree bark, sarsaparilla root, licorice fruit, nutmeg, anise, molasses and artificial flavoring of sassafras root bark. Carbonated water will be needed to go with all of those ingredients. Carbonated water is used in soft drinks and other non-alcoholic drinks so this should definitely be used over any type of water.

After the ingredients are mixed they should be stored for a couple of days in a refrigerator. This time period is required so that the drink will be able to mix well enough so that the drink will be at its best quality. If the drink is served too early the drink will not be smooth enough and the taste will greatly suffer, not to mention it will not be as easy to drink as it should be.
